授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	This one-term, twice-a-week required class for first-year students develops a range of English language skills (with an emphasis on oral communication) by applying practical communication strategies to help build on those linguistic skills learned by students in high school. Overall Objectives 1. To give students maximum opportunities to communicate 2. To build student confidence in interpersonal communication 3. To begin to develop the basic study skills needed to successfully carry out their four years of English study at this institution
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	This class will be conducted in English, and students are expected to speak in English with the instructor and with their classmates during the class time period. This class will be delivered face to face on the university campus, with supplemental elements available online.
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Most of the activities will be conducted within the 100-minute class period. When homework is assigned, students are expected to complete it fully by the deadline.
