授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives |
In this one-semester course students develop their ability to write essays that have logical academic structure, using appropriate academic tone, style and language. Students will need to express their opinions and reasoning clearly in argumentative style essays. Students work on the same issue for the first model 1000-word essay. The issue for the second essay is selected by students from a list of choices. Essays will incorporate researched sources, using paraphrases and quotations. Essay assignments involve research, outlining, drafting, detailed revision and editing. |

Students receive detailed handouts for academic writing guidance on content, structure and style. Students receive detailed instruction on all aspects of the academic research essay process. Students practice various academic writing skills. Any online classes will be on-demand. |
