授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives |
The goal in the Writing Skills III course is to develop students’ writing and critical thinking abilities in English, progressing from production of shorter to longer academic texts, and from writing on familiar topics to writing about more complex and academic ones. Overall Objectives 1. To provide an overview of what constitutes a ‘good’ essay 2. To help students understand various patterns of essay organization 3. To help students plan essays 4. To help students revise and edit their essays 5. To help students use a variety of sources 6. To help students develop computer literacy skills 7. To introduce the basics of referencing and creating a bibliography (MLA or APA styles) |

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course |
授業では主に日本語で解説を行いますが、質疑応答やペアワーク、グループワーク等のアウトプットは英語で行います。また、首尾一貫したエッセイを書くためには英文読解力も必須です。テキストにあるリーディング素材の分析も時間をかけて行います。アウトプットのみに気を取られないように注意して学修してください。 | ||||||||||

事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study |
事前学修として、授業範囲をPorTallで確認し、教科書の予習とライティング課題の準備をする。事後学修として、授業で理解に不安のある箇所を確認し、ライティングの課題で指摘された箇所があれば読み直し修正する。（各1時間） 予習してあることを前提として授業をすすめます。各自取り組んでから授業に臨んでください。授業の予習（1時間）、復習（1時間）。 |
