授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives |
多様なテーマに関するリーディング?リサーチ?ディスカッションを通して4技能および語彙?文法?リーディングストラテジーの統合的学習を行う．これらを通して宣言的知識が操作的知識に移行することを目的とする．例えば1つの具体的目標は，口頭?筆記双方で所与のテキストのパラフレイズや要約ができることである．この他に，課外活動として多読学習を取り入れ，内在的に動機付けられた英語の読書習慣の形成を図る．Involves integrated learning of English in four skills, vocabulary, grammar, and reading skills with a purpose of converting declarative knowledge to procedural knowledge. Paraphrasing/summarising of given texts in both speaking and writing is one of the immediate goals. Along with the main course is extensive reading provided for habit formation of internalised reading motivation. | ||||||||||

授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course |
※Due to the corona virus pandemic and the teacher's personal circumstances, this course will be conducted as live-stream classes using Zoom. You must join live Zoom classes for both lessons each week. Please check manaba every week for notices, and further information on how to join Zoom will be available on manaba before class starts. ※In this class we (1) use manaba (LMS) for presenting learning materials, collecting assignments, and giving feedback,(2) provide opportunities of exchanging opinions among students by introducing group work and peer reviews of oral/written products, and (3) distribute learning materials in advance in combination with real-time classes. ※English is the medium of instruction as well as the language of communication for both teacher-student and student-student interaction. Students’ active participation as well as sufficient preparation for each class are essential. |

事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study |
各回とも十分な予習（目安20～40分)?復習(目安40～20分)を必要とする．配分は課題の内容による．また，課題は必ず期限までに提出すること．Requires sufficient preview (20 - 40 minutes) and review (40 - 20 minutes) of each class. Time allocation depends on the target task. Assignments must be submitted by the deadline. 多読目標：250 pages or 100,000 words per semester |
