授業の目的?内容 ／Course Objectives	The course aims to advance students' knowledge of German-speaking countries while developing their general academic English skills. It is a content-based course that will integrate all four language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking.
授業の形式?方法と履修上の注意 ／Teaching method and Attention the course	Students will explore various aspects (geography, culture, and social issues) of German-speaking countries by participating in class activities such as reading articles, watching news stories, listening to lectures and interviews, writing short reports (summary / response), and giving presentations. Written feedback will be provided to students either in class or online via MyDOC. All class activities will be conducted in English: (Minimum TOEIC score required = 450)
事前?事後学修の内容 ／Before After Study	Students will be responsible for completing assignments related to the course content. Generally, students can expect to spend approximately 1 hour per week on these assignments. In the middle and at the end of the semester students will prepare presentations. This will likely involve several hours of study time spread out over 2 or 3 weeks.
